Spak Nation ("Spak Nation," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website spaknation.com, including the Spak Stars Championship voting platform, our dance academy programs, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit our website, enroll in a program, or participate in the Spak Stars Championship.

By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Services.

02 Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

• Account & enrollment details: name, email address, phone number, child's name and age (for program enrollment), parent/guardian contact information.
• Voting & payment details: email address used at checkout, transaction reference, and amount paid when casting votes in the Spak Stars Championship via Paystack.
• Contestant profile data: if you are a championship contestant, your name, dance style, bio, photos, social media handles, and bank account details used to receive vote-related transfers.
• Reviews & communications: reviews, ratings, and messages you submit through the site, plus any correspondence with us via email or contact forms.

Information collected automatically

• Device and browser information, IP address, and general location (city/region level).
• Usage data such as pages visited, time spent, and referring pages, collected via standard web server logs and analytics tools.
• Cookies and similar technologies, including those used by third-party advertising partners (see Section 10).

Information from third parties

We receive transaction confirmation data from our payment processor, Paystack, including payment status, amount, and the email or account details associated with a transaction. We do not receive or store full card numbers, CVVs, or banking passwords — these are handled entirely by Paystack under its own security standards.

03 How We Use Information

• To operate and maintain the Spak Stars Championship voting system, including crediting votes to the correct contestant.
• To process program enrollments, communicate class schedules, and manage the parent/guardian relationship for our dance academy.
• To respond to inquiries, support requests, and contestant or parent communications.
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service, including suspicious or duplicate voting activity.
• To improve our website, services, and user experience through aggregated, non-identifying analytics.
• To display contestant profiles, leaderboards, vote counts, and public reviews as part of the normal operation of the Championship.
• To comply with legal obligations, including financial recordkeeping required by Nigerian law.

04 Payments & Vote Data

All payments made through the Spak Stars Championship — whether by card, USSD, or direct bank transfer — are processed by Paystack, a licensed Nigerian payment service provider. We do not store your card details on our servers.

We retain transaction records (reference number, amount, contestant credited, and timestamp) for accounting, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance purposes.

05 Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Paystack (payments), our hosting provider (Railway), DNS/CDN provider (Cloudflare), and email delivery services — each solely to the extent necessary to operate the Services.
• Advertising partners: we may use Google AdSense to display advertising, which may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites (see Section 10).
• Legal compliance: if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Spak Nation, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

06 Children's Privacy

Spak Nation operates a dance academy that serves children, and we take child data protection seriously. Where a program enrollment involves a minor, the account and all communications are managed by a parent or legal guardian, not the child directly. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent obtained through the enrolling parent or guardian.

Photos or videos of minors used for promotional purposes (studio galleries, showcases, social media) are only published with prior written parental or guardian consent, which can be withdrawn at any time by contacting us (see Section 12).

07 Data Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/SSL), restricted database access, and reliance on PCI-DSS compliant payment processing through Paystack. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

08 Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy, including ongoing legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Transaction and voting records are typically retained for the duration of the relevant championship season plus a reasonable period thereafter for dispute resolution and financial recordkeeping.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 12. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe, subject to verification of your identity and any legal retention obligations.

10 Cookies & Advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate core site functionality (such as remembering your vote-overlay search preferences) and, where enabled, to support advertising through Google AdSense.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet. 01 Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of spaknation.com, including the Spak Stars Championship voting platform and our dance academy program pages (collectively, the "Services"), operated by Spak Nation, based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.

By accessing or using the Services, including by casting a vote or enrolling in a program, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

02 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to make a payment or cast a vote on the Spak Stars Championship platform. Program enrollment for minors must be completed by a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on the minor's behalf.

03 Our Services

Spak Nation operates as a dance academy offering training programs (including ballet, hip-hop, acrobatics, and related disciplines) and hosts the annual Spak Stars Championship, a public dance competition featuring a paid voting mechanism. Class schedules, program availability, and championship seasons are subject to change at our discretion, and we will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes in advance.

04 Championship Voting Rules

• Votes are purchased at a fixed rate of ₦100 per vote, payable via card, USSD, or direct bank transfer through Paystack.
• Votes are credited to the selected contestant automatically upon confirmed payment and are reflected on the public leaderboard, typically within seconds to a few minutes.
• All votes are final and non-transferable once credited. You may not reassign votes from one contestant to another after payment.
• The contestant with the highest number of votes when the voting window closes, as displayed on the official leaderboard, is declared the winner of that season, subject to our right to investigate and disqualify results obtained through fraud, manipulation, or violation of these Terms.
• We reserve the right to adjust, pause, or extend a voting window in cases of technical failure, payment processor outage, or suspected fraud, and to make a final determination on disputed results at our sole discretion.
• Spak Nation does not guarantee any particular outcome, prize, or opportunity beyond what is explicitly published for a given championship season.

05 Payments, Refunds & Disputes

All payments are processed securely through Paystack. By making a payment, you confirm that you are authorized to use the selected payment method.

Refund policy

Because votes are credited and publicly recorded immediately upon payment confirmation, all vote purchases are final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law or in cases of a verified duplicate charge or technical error on our part. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 7 days of the transaction with your payment reference (see Section 12), and we will investigate in good faith.

Failed or pending transactions

If a payment is deducted from your account but votes are not credited within a reasonable time, contact us with your transaction reference and proof of payment so we can reconcile the issue with Paystack.

06 Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use bots, scripts, or automated means to manipulate vote counts or interact with the Services.
• Submit false, defamatory, or abusive reviews or content.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to contestant accounts, payment systems, or backend infrastructure.
• Use the Services for any unlawful purpose, including fraud, money laundering, or circumventing payment verification.
• Impersonate any contestant, staff member, or other user.

We reserve the right to remove content, suspend accounts, or disqualify votes that we reasonably believe violate this section.

07 Intellectual Property

All content on spaknation.com, including text, graphics, logos, the "Spaknation Method," and design elements, is owned by or licensed to Spak Nation and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Contestants retain ownership of their own photos and social media content but grant Spak Nation a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display such content on the platform for the purposes of the Championship.

08 Disclaimers

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, and we are not responsible for outages or delays caused by third-party providers, including Paystack, Railway, or Cloudflare.

09 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spak Nation and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services, including any payment or voting transaction. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the transaction giving rise to the claim.

10 Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in fraudulent or harmful conduct. Provisions relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability survive any termination.

11 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Rivers State, Nigeria.
